Isn't good enough for the enemy AI to whittle down your manpower to the point where you need the puppets' manpower to survive, and isn't good enough for the puppet AI to produce decent divisions to lend you or defend their own territory without your help.

I have the same problem. There is no option to annex vassal/puppet. You also cannot let enemy to conquer that, because when you reconquer, they simply get their territory back.Also i could not get goverment change/coup to work.You can always use console if you play nonironman, but for the rest, we are stuck kinda.Edit:Small vassals/puppets are useless, there should be option to give them land, release them, annex them etc, but no. You can give them any ocupied land for time of war and also all provinces they have claims for permanently.Beside puppets use their own manpower, you can control all units their produce and you can get all their resources for free - you only dont get their factories for yourself.But it can be more benefical have puppets if you have large industry yourself already.But I agree it should be possible release puppet to be able do other diplomacy options with them.

Give me a break.Big puppets like Raj is useful, but only for meatshield on frontlines, they have infinite manpower so I feel no pain in telling them to assault panzer divs.

Btw Raj while having unlimited MP are stuck by arbitary rule which limits their divs production, and while AI is re-tarded they cannot leverage that MP advantage properly.Units they produce are just meatshield, you cannot customize them, you can disband them though xd.It is not about resources for countries that have puppets, it is abot the land, colour, name and the factory slots. Stupid thing is that you cannot modify your puppets land at all.
